2021 December Notes

Newsletter – December 2021

HOT TOPICS FROM THE BOARD

HOA 2022 Dues Notice: Invoices for the HOA Annual Dues will be going out in January. The dues remains unchanged at $1500 per year and is payable within 30 days of receipt. In response to requests from some HOA members, the HOA looked into establishing a Venmo payment connection, but determined it is impractical for the HOA. Members can inquire with their personal bank about electronic payment options if they do not want to issue a written check.

Greenhouse & Facilities Committees

Greenhouse Re-Use: the Greenhouse committee and the Facilities Committee are continuing to develop plans to replace the Greenhouse with an open-air pavilion. If you have not already responded to the survey to give your opinion and ideas, you can do so here.  Let us hear from you.

Social Committee Notes

The next meeting of the SO Book Club will be on January 25 at 7 pm at the home of Katie DeGroff.  Katie and Kristen Eggen will lead the discussion on Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr.

At the December “Give and Gather” we raised $800 for BeLoved and $800 for Animal Haven and also collected an entire carload of coats, blankets and clothing for BeLoved. Miscellaneous items went to Animal Haven’s thrift store.

The Cookie Exchange was a yummy success with 12 households participating in the exchange!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our neighbors!

EVENTS

Old Farm School Road Clean-up:  Old Farm School road is looking a bit trashy and it’s time for us to do another quarterly cleanup, so we’re shooting for Saturday, January 8th, at 9:00 a.m.  The weather looks like it will be decent, but we’ll monitor it and see how it looks closer to time.  We will meet down at the mailboxes and if we have enough participation we’ll be done in about an hour.  If you have any questions, contact Moe Davis at col.morris.davis@gmail.com

Accessing the Sovereign Oaks Website

The SO website https://sovereignoakshoa.com contains lots of useful information for residents. For those HOA members who have not logged on before, you can use the gateway password “sovereignoaksHOA” for your first log in then set your own username and password. Please note, a site administrator has to approve the new login, so there may be a delay in activation.
Current users, please remember that you may have to enter the gateway password in the future if it has been a while since your last visit.

SOVEREIGN OAKS WEBSITES TO BE REVISED

Amanda Galvin and Rebekah Owings are taking on the task of revising the Sovereign Oaks public-facing website (sovereingoaks.com) and the HOA website (sovereignoakshoa.com). The goal for the public-facing website is to have it be more informative about the community in general. The goal of the HOA website redesign is to institute an initial login request that ensures only HOA members can gain access, but also make the login process easier than the two-step process that currently exists. The site will also be redesigned to be easier for HOA members to navigate and find information.

We appreciate your patience!
