Adopt A Highway Project

Asheville GreenWorks annual Spring Sweep is April 18-23 and it’s time for the quarterly Adopt-a-Road cleanup on Old Farm School Road, so .please come out next Saturday, April 23, at 9:00 and join neighbors from Sovereign Oaks, Holly Hills and River Run in picking up trash along our adopted part of the road. We will meet up at the mailboxes at 9:00 and, if we have enough support to field 4 teams, we should be done in about an hour.

Any questions, please contact Moe Davis at 703.589.8603 (mobile) or col.morris.davis@gmail.com

On April 28th, the NC Department of Transportation officially approved Sovereign Oaks, Holly Hill and River Run to adopt Old Farm School Road between Lower Grassy Branch and Riceville Road. Moe Davis is working with the points of contact in Holly Hill and River Run to set a date for the first cleanup effort.

Note: River Run was not on the initial application that was submitted, so they do not appear on the certificate of appreciation. They are included on the form that went to the NCDOT sign department to acknowledge them along with us on the road sign that will go up soon.

Here is a document on Safety Rules and Guidelines provided by the NCDOT that volunteers should read before attending the cleanup.
